A Belfast Jester?

It was 'the 5th of November' and I, (Marti of Belfastology Walking Tours) had just returned from a Fam Trip with Visit Belfast to the 'North Down and Ards District Council. We visited The Ulster Folk and Transport Musuem (wow)
The Copland Distillary (wow)
Lunching in Peir 36 or The Commodore pub you may know it as from 'Hope St' (wow) and after going for a wee dander and sneak peck along the Donaghadee harbour to the Samual Kelly lifeboat. And on our way back we stopped into the Somme Musuem (wow, wow, wow) Humbling and hilighting just how far along the road to peace we have come and unexpectedly my favorite of the day. (All the above and more well worth a visit.)
I had returned fashionable late of course for the grand unveiling of the Lord Mayors Lamp posts outside the Ulster Hall in the Linen Quarter. And as I arrived I just caught a glimpse of the Belfast Czar (or Zorro as I call him) disappearing inside, (I'd missed the unveiling). But was just in time for the after party) Delores of Creative Tours was in full swing delivering a guided tour of the paintings that once invited audiences to enjoy their nights in the Grand Old 1862 Ulster Hall. And not wanting to impose I headed on up the stairs to the reception in the old theatre. Havin glimpsed into the great hall itself.
And as the night continued I reminisced on events I'd been to there. Like Bob Geldof with his infamous Boomtown Rats and Lene Lovich with her Lucky Number (awesome my lucky number two ) Yeah I was a punk rocker back in the day ( I recommend watching the movie Good Vibrations ) Anyway getting back to the chating with Delores after her tour. I had mentioned the last time I'd been in that room was the night James Galloway was given the keys to Belfast. Which is what I thought was the case? Turns out it was a night of celebration of the man with the golden flute, and Van Morrison is the only prominent musician to do so so far.
And suddenly I realised on my way out of the Ulster Hall I was becoming a Belfast Jester. 😲 to be continued...
